Role - Consultant in Public Health / GMC or UKVR registered
Day rate - £550.00 - £650.00 per day

ISL is working in partnership with a local authority based in London and are looking to hire an Interim Public Health Consultant, on a 6-month basis. They have a fairly small team who operate within their specialist advisory hub providing assistance to NHS, social health, planning & housing. You will work alongside other consultants who look after sexual health, substance, public health, substance & teen pregnancy.
You will join the council and provide professional public health expertise, leadership, advise and support to the council. You will provide expert public health advice and leadership support with an evidence-based approach within ethical frameworks for commissioning. You will develop high quality services across primary, secondary, community and social care.
You will work within diagnostic services covering ongoing mental health and children. Your duties will also include-
*Involvement with the performance of staff & maintain engagement with the council's activities.
*Communicating with members of the public and various organisations, agencies and the police as part of the arrangements for communicable disease control and health protection and local authority commissioned or delivered public health services.
*Managing major programmes within area of expertise, deliver major projects and resolve complex casework.
*Monitoring the allocated budget for the service area & managing the implementation of improvement initiatives and change programmes using the councils project management and service improvement methodologies.
The successful candidate will be an experienced consultant who has previously worked within a public health role. You will be either GMC or UKVR registered. Consultants who are medically qualified is preferable, not essential. You will be experienced with assessment on diagnostics & carrying out ongoing service reviews.
