Full time/fixed term for 2 years

The KTP Associate will be an employee of GCU but will based at Stream Technologies Glasgow office with regular supervision meetings with the University supervisory team

Stream Technologies Ltd design and develop end to end wireless connectivity for M2M (machine to machine) devices. Streams provides global connectivity services including end to end 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE (wireless communication of high speed data for mobile phones/devices), satellite services and many Low Power Radio Network technologies, each designed for the Internet of Things (IoT). As well as network connectivity, Stream provide proprietary subscriber management software built entirely "in-house" with a large client base ranging from Global Enterprises, large blue chip companies and SMEs worldwide

The project provides an excellent opportunity to use cutting edge technical skills in software programing (e.g. python), IoT systems, wireless sensors, security and machine learning to develop a novel Real time monitoring tool for security threats in IoT of live data within. The skills associated with developing and delivering this capability as either an integrated service or as a new service to their customers will require knowledge in machine learning, advanced artificial intelligence and big data.

The successful candidate will possess BSc Honours degree or higher in Computer Systems, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications.

Required Experience will include:

Experience of machine learning techniques based on previous experience (e.g. honours/MSc project)

General knowledge of security threats

Programming skills (e.g. Python),

Exposure to the full software development lifecycle.

The candidate must also have a positive attitude toward interdisciplinary research and teamwork.
