Junior Voice Engineer

An excellent opportunity for you to join a well-known market leader who has been established for over 40 years. Due to the rapid growth and the new IT department structure they have create an opening for a junior voice engineer to join the team and contribute to the success of the department.

As an Voice Engineer you'll be responsible for working in both a service desk environment and assisting on projects with On the job training will be provided by some of the best in the business, with a clear career path and progression available to the right candidate.

What you will be doing:

- Act as the initial point of escalation for the Service Desk, providing guidance and assistance with BAU support tickets, escalating to the Senior Engineer and third party suppliers where necessary

- You'll be responsible for telephony systems, VOIP and video conference solutions assisting with any issues from internal users

- Support the infrastructure team with project delivery, ensuring that tasks are delivered on-schedule and to a high standards

- Own and maintain key documentation on the voice infrastructure services, updating with moves and changes where required

- Pro-actively monitoring the voice platforms, discovering and remediating any issues before they impact users

Required Skills

- Basic understanding of networking including SIP, TCPIP, DNS, DHCP etc. in a telephony environment

- Basic understanding of core VOIP technologies & telephony hardware/software

- Exposure to at least one of the major voice vendor solutions - AvayaCisco Mitel etc.

- Customer focus - excellent written and verbal skills are essential & the ability to learn from troubleshooting experiences

- Self-motivated and able to work alone or in a small team over multiple locations
