A Web Developer is required to join one of the largest and most well-known alternative clothing suppliers in the UK today. The company has gone from strength-to-strength and now boasts a wide range of official band merchandise, festival accessories, alternative clothing and footwear across thirteen high street stores in the UK. Coupled with this, their internet presence is has seen strong growth year-on-year and now boasts over a million visits every month alone.

The Role:

Due to exceptionally strong and sustained growth, they are looking for a Web Developer to work within their IT Department in Liskeard (PL14). It is essential that any candidate have excellent OOP PHP development skills and have a deep understanding of templating engines (previous experience of working with them would be beneficial).

They are in the process of moving away from a spaghetti eCommerce solution and require an experienced PHP web developer to assist with the daily demands of a large online retail website. Other skills required for the role include MySQL, HTML5/CSS3, Javascript/JQuery - you must be able to demonstrate your capabilities with these technologies.

They have created bespoke inhouse solutions to integrate their systems using

- PHP

- Javascript

- MySql

- C#. As such, the ability to code in C# would help you with your application, but is not essential.

Version control software is used to organise workloads across the entire development team, so an understanding of VCS is also a must.

They have several websites to maintain and develop for, so there is a wide variety of work. This work ranges from coding templates to payment integration systems to working with Google Analytics.

The IT Department is based in Liskeard (Cornwall), however a large number of their staff live in Plymouth (Devon) and so there is opportunity to carpool from Plymouth to Liskeard daily.

All applicants must have the following required skills: PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, Ajax, and MySql.

An ability to cope with conflicting demands and to prioritise tasks coupled with good communication skills, would also be preferred to assist in the day to day administration of other miscellaneous office based duties.

Some skills that may help your application but are not essential to your success are experience with: JSHOP, C#, Symfony/Twig, and VCS.
