Part-time, 18.5 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Protection Officer to come on board, as soon as possible, to advise on all aspects of data protection and ensure full compliance for upcoming GDPR.

Duties include:

Assisting the Council on all data privacy matters and in meeting GDPR obligations

Raising awareness and undertaking staff training on all aspects of the GDPR and the Data Protection Act

Undertake data auditing

Analysing and checking compliance with data processing activities and informing/issuing recommendations, as necessary, to the Council.

The successful applicant to have an in depth understanding of the GDRP and processing operations carried out by the Council. Therefore, knowledge of local government is required.

You will also provide awareness training to a wide audience using different methods for different audiences. We are looking for a data protection professional that can devise and deliver a challenging programme. This role will advise on all areas of data privacy and undertake Data Impact Analyses.
