The Role

Demonstrating excellent communication, people management and mentoring skills, you will be leading the team responsible for the day-to-day management of Sotic's hosting, content management and internal systems platforms. This is a hands-on role where you will also be working closely with software engineers to design, build, configure, deploy and support our clients devices infrastructure to make sure their systems are secure, robust and reliable.

You role will be to:

- Efficiently prioritise, schedule and manage the Platform team’s day to day workload

- Communicate and collaborate effectively with managers and other teams

- Report weekly to the Head of Digital Operations

- Ensure your team communicate clearly via tickets, emails, chat and calls

- Meet weekly with the Development and Build teams to share and collaborate

- Be available outside of normal working hours to deal with urgent system errors

We expect you to have experience in:

- Maintaining AWS or other cloud-based services

- Maintaining and deploying LAMP stack, supporting WordPress

- High Availability (load-balancing, clustering) setups

- ECS or other container orchestration systems

- PHP/Python/bash shell scripting

- Database management and SQL (MySQL)

- Configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet)

- Monitoring tools (Zabbix, CloudWatch)

- Configuring, caching and caching tools (Varnish, CDNs)

- Using version control systems (svn, git)

- Diagnosing and explaining TCP/IP, LAN and WAN problems

- Diagnosing and explain DNS

The Team

Your team is responsible for:

- Supporting systems to deliver live websites and back-end CMS systems

- Management of internal IT systems

- Ensuring the uptime and SLAs of our production systems

- Website security and testing thereof

- Handling production outages and performing root cause analysis

The Salary:

We offer a salary of circa £40-45K per annum depending on experience. You will receive a salary review in your first year.
