Big Data Engineer (Linux Hadoop NoSQL HBase Kafka)

Location: Central London

Rate: £600 to £700 p/day

Term: 6 months

Start: Immediate

Big Data Engineer with strong Hadoop experience sought for a six month contract at a hugely profitable FinTech in Central London. You'll help drive the adoption of Big Data technologies; acting as a Hadoop subject matter expert. You will be responsible for setting up, configuring, installing and maintaining the Hadoop ecosystem within the firm with an emphasis on scalability, resiliency, security and automation.

Requirements:

*Experience in designing, running and troubleshooting Hadoop clusters

*Strong knowledge of Linux

*Good knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g. HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB)

*Familiar with middleware messaging systems (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ, FTL, Ultra Messaging)

*Strong academic record of achievement, 2.1 or above from a top tier university

*Collaborative team member with strong communication and interpersonal skills
