Education, Learning and Resettlement Manager

An exciting new opportunity for an Education, Lifelong Learning and Resettlement Manager has arisen with has overall responsibility for the management, performance, continuous improvement (CI) and service delivery of Education Lifelong Learning and Resettlement (EL3R) activity in line with Company standards and contractual requirements with the Royal Navy. Working for a leading support services organisation based in Portsmouth.

* Ensure the delivery of EL3R services, including the management of staff on each site where services are delivered

* Provision of a resettlement service to military staff departing the RN.

* Delivery of a Library & Information service to support staff and trainees on courses.

* Maintenance of a trainee Specific Learning Difficulties support service that complies with RN and MoD policy

* Provision of Functional Skills Maths & English tuition for Lifelong Learners and Education for Promotion

* Liaison with RN and National Authorities/Agencies to ensure a consistent and compliant EL3R output. Ensuring MoD/External authority regulations and procedures fully adhere to the NETS Charter outputs.

* Implementation of Major Changes to the EL3R services including the transfer of TATE Agency personnel.

* Seek Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives within EL3R area, to maximise performance delivery, innovative new approaches to delivery and generate savings

Qualifications & Requirements

* Consolidated experience and knowledge of (RN) Conditions of Service, Duty of Care, Career Management, Career Training, Service Education and Civilian Accreditation - Essential

* Professional level qualification in education (PGCE, DTLLS or Cert Ed.) - Essential

* Level 5 English (Literacy) or Level 5 Maths (Numeracy) - Essential

* Consolidated experience in delivering support to SpLD and Basic Skills learners - Essential

* ILM Level 5 Certificate (Coaching and Mentoring in Management) - Desirable

* IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) - Desirable

* ECDL or equivalent demonstrable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) - Essential
