E-Serve is the delivery arm of Ofgem, the regulator of Britain’s gas and electricity markets, and is helping to shape the future of the energy market - delivering better energy efficiency through renewable energy sources, and protecting the interests of energy consumers. If you choose to be part of our team (based in London and Glasgow) you can expect plenty of opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience, with the professional support you need to reach your full potential.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced and capable data analyst who can bring data to life in the form of business insights that support effective decision making. You’ll be working with performance data from across a range of energy efficiency schemes and social programmes that Ofgem delivers on behalf of the UK government. Effective use of data and analysis is a key strand of our improvement ambitions, to identify and interpret trends within the UK energy marketplace. As a senior member of our data team you’ll play an influential role in embedding data insight and its use into our organisational culture. This is a growing part of our business and presents a real opportunity to make your mark.

You should be experienced and proficient in exploring and interpreting large data sets, using a number of statistical techniques and different data systems. You’ll be comfortable consolidating data from different sources, and formulating insights into meaningful and accessible reporting for a range of audiences. A keen eye for detail and excellent analytical skills are essential, and you should be able to work well with a range of stakeholders, tailoring reporting to different needs and priorities. You should be confident working at pace, and bringing a flexible and outward looking perspective to your work.

Ofgem can offer you a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which includes:

Up to 30 days’ annual leave

Excellent training and development opportunities

The opportunity to join the Civil Service pension arrangements, which include a valuable range of benefits

Subsidised gym and restaurant (London only)

Flexible working hours and family friendly policies
