General Conventional Machinist (Horizontal Boring/Turning)

York - Commutable from: Rawcliffe, Hungtington, Hessay, Rufforth, Haxby, Dunnington, Heslington, Fulford, Bishopthorpe, Askham Richards, Copmanthorpe, Kexby, Strensall, Stockton On Forest, Flaxton and surrounding areas

£10.50 - £13.00 per hour - + overtime, 33 days holiday, Pension scheme, Bonus scheme, and life insurance

Are you an experienced Machinist? Are you looking for your next immediately available permanent job with excellent benefits? My client are a leading multi-disciplined engineering corporation, acting as both a both a service provider and manufacturer. They are seeking a Horizontal Borer/Turner to machine new and refurbished components of rotating machinery.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, be apprentice trainer (or hold a relevant qualification) be fully conversant with Horizontal boring and centre Lathe Turning. As well as having experience of large scale machining.

The role:

*Following detailed Machining procedures and instructions

*Machining components over a wide range of different materials and sizes including: Mild Steel, Alloy Steel, Cast Iron, Bronzes, and high Nickel Alloys. Including weights up to and over 20T

*Final inspection and record keeping to ensure quality and specification

The person:

*Apprentice trained

*Experience in machining small to heavy industrial components from a wide range of industries

*H&S awareness/Training
