Area Operations Manager- £65,000 + Car + benefits - FTSE 100 Organisation

I am recruiting on behalf of a FTSE 100 Engineering Organization and a true market leader within engineering support services. This particular role functions within their land division, supporting key engineering works with heavy mobile plant.

We are looking for an accomplished operations manager to provide strategic and tactical leadership to the fleet management team. Providing clear and visible leadership whilst playing a key role in the success and growth of the business.

You will oversee a large number of sites and assets and be responsible for health and safety, KPI's and finances.

Main Responsibilities

* Assist with the promotion of safe working practices, the development / maintenance of a culture in which health and safety is everyone's first priority, and work to eliminate accidents.

* Carry out regular toolbox talks and safety briefings to reinforce the health and safety message, and work towards an ever increasing awareness of safety risks involved within the business.

* Ensure compliance with ISO quality accreditations as appropriate and support both internal and external audits as required.

* Fully accountable for the operational performance within the area - co-ordination and delivery of all repair and maintenance activities to contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and deadlines in accordance with customer contractual requirements and internal business performance and quality standards.

* Own and develop the key senior customer relationships within the area and actively support the national relationship - lead role in monthly operational performance meetings with the customer within the area.

* Undertake regular visits to customer sites in area to build and develop customer operational relationships, provide progress updates and manage any dispute resolutions.

* To act as 'second line' dispute resolution to any customer queries that are not resolved by the Regional Operations Manager - resolutions are to be sought in a professional and respectful manner based on customer contractual and business requirements.

* Drive to ensure adherence and development of established 'best practice' maintenance processes in-line with OEM recommendations, customer contractual requirements and agreed service and quality parameters and ongoing development of the maintenance provision.

* Support the delivery of continuous improvement in repair and maintenance performance and cost / value control through internal resource and wider supply chain.

* Develop and manage an area growth strategy that delivers substantial and sustainable growth in line with business unit expectations, both with existing and new customer opportunities.

* Fully accountable for the financial performance within the area - manage the repair and maintenance budget and support the delivery of accurate forecasts and budgets in-line with business unit expectations in relation to revenue, cost control and profit.

* Drive to increase productivity, efficiency and utilisation through internal resource and supply chain activities.

* Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders within the business and externally.

Requirements

* Engineering or business management qualifications

* Operations management experience in a fleet or engineering business

* Experience in supply chain and subcontractor management

* Financial management

* Excellent stakeholder management experience
