We are currently recruiting for a Head of Internal Communications to undertake an initial 6 month contract with a leading client in their industry sector. This role is based in London with occasional travel once a month within Europe and potentially the USA.

Reporting to board level, the Head of Internal Communications will create and deliver the global internal communications strategy in line with the company purpose, narrative and values.

The challenge is to build engagement levels whilst supporting major organisational changes that are implemented across the company.

Internal resources, structures and channels must be reviewed and redesigned to create a best in class global internal communications function.

This role is responsible for leading all employee communications across the business, building a strong internal network and sharing of best practice.

The role requires senior counsel on employee communications and practices for board level and senior divisional management

Rigorous measurement of all activities must be implemented to ensure the continuous improvement of the global internal communications strategy.

Being a key member of the leadership team, this position works with the rest of the team to drive communications across the company.

Define, develop and lead the delivery of the internal communications strategy to support the business's key strategic and cultural objectives.

Lead and coordinate a globally aligned internal communications team that engages employees around the company purpose, strategy and values, including:

o Create and lead communications campaigns to build employee pride and engagement

o Lead change communications for company transformation programs

o Deliver communications plans to support key corporate functions

o Create a strong leadership community, helping them drive employee engagement

Build a world class Internal Communications team with personal growth and career opportunity for all members.

Create a centre of excellence for internal communications, leading new ways of working across the global communications function.

Audit the existing suite of communications channels across the business and implement a measurement programme to ensure internal communications performance is clearly understood by all stakeholders.

Implement a new set of channels across the business that successfully supports company purpose and business goals

Business Partner functions to bring structure to their communications plans based on sound analysis of messaging, appropriate channels and audience as well as timing.

Key examples include:

o Planning and organising leadership events and conferences

o Formal, calendared CEO communications

o Announcements

Support of major business projects and initiatives including change programmes and M&A activity.

Partner HR & Learning and Development in the creation of cultural and engagement programmes

Partner with HR to implement employee integration programmes following M&A activity

Partner HR & Reward to align reward and recognition to reinforce desired behaviours and celebrate successes.

1. Creating the strategic plan for the year and agreeing major employee communications programmes

2. Leading the communications approach for major company change management/integration programs

3. Setting of global KPIs and targets for specific campaigns

4. Management of execution and team budget of circa EURxm.

5. Provision of communications advice to Executive Committee members, functional leaders and other senior business leaders

6. Identification of opportunities and risks

Additional Information;

Additional languages an advantage; French, Spanish or German due to the travel
