If so, we would like to hear from you. We are looking to recruit an IT Business Manger to manage and develop a small and growing family IT business. You will be a hands on IT professional, and also have the ability to build the business and manage the team. You will be excited about the long term opportunity this position holds and you will be interested in getting involved in all aspects of the business.

You will lead the team as well as provide 3rd line support for customers. You will be customer focused, have great communication and interpersonal skills, and be the 'friendly & knowledgeable face of IT’, providing day-to-day software, hardware and telephony support to our customers. You will also manage the team of support technicians and be responsible for not only the growth of the business, but also the growth of the team.

Your responsibilities will include;

-Day to day man management of a 5 man Service Desk being technically hands on yourself around 50% of the time - with the scope to manage additional teams in the near future.

-You will oversee all of the technical staff (mainly 1st and 2nd line support engineers with some 3rd line) and ensure all tickets are dealt with to SLA standards.

-Being technically hands-on and management and overseeing the service desk team

-Speaking with external clients to ensure offering a high level of customer service.

-Escalation point for support issues.

-Lead, manage and coordinate day to day Service Desk operations

-Management reporting and performance management

-Line management team staff and coordinating staffing of desk telephones and provide remote or face to face technical support escalation point for support issues.

-Have proven technical, problem solving and troubleshooting ability.

-Excellent written and verbal communication and people skills.

-Strong relationship-building skills and customer-service orientated.

-Ability to handle multiple requests/projects simultaneously and prioritise.

-Provide motivation, training and technical support to team members with varying levels of IT knowledge.

-Ability to demonstrate clear & confident communication skills both written and verbal.

-Ability to deal with problems and technical issues in a friendly, calm and reassuring manner.

-Excellent problem solving ability. A proactive thinker who encompasses the ‘bigger picture’.

-Passion for IT and technology, and a drive to help customers take advantage of new solutions.

Technical skills required:

-Ability to produce clear, concise and accurate documentation and job notes.

-Windows 10 - 7 to advanced level.

-Office 2003 - 2016 to advanced level.

-Windows Server 2008-2016 administration, build and maintenance to advanced level.

-Exchange Server - ideally some knowledge of its internal workings.

-To be able to setup, install and troubleshoot network printers, scanners, Routers, access points & IP phones.

-Strong understanding and working knowledge of Active Directory, exchange mailbox administration, group policies and domain controllers.

-Good knowledge (configuration & troubleshooting) of Routers, Firewalls, Switches, VPN devices, Anti-Virus, WiFi and other networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS & DHCP.

-Management of cloud solutions such as Google Apps, Office 365 and Hosted Desktop.

-Strong understanding of backups, backup software and restoration methods.

-Strong understanding of NTFS and share permissions in Windows Server environments.

-The ability to articulate at a technical level appropriate to the circumstances which takes into consideration clients varied levels of IT knowledge & competence.

-Natural interest in IT with a desire to stay abreast of new technologies.

This role is based in the Potters Bar area and the salary will be between £40,000 - £55,000 per annum depending on experience, plus growth related bonus.
