Principal Software Engineer required to join the Hybrid & Electrical Systems unit within a market leading automotive OEM and Tier 1 Supplier based in Cambridge.

As Principal Software Engineer, you will work on the development on software for a battery management systems, design development of software units for driveline systems, Whole life-cycle software development for an on-vehicle battery-charging unit. You will lead technical delivery of software engineering work products according to cost, quality and operational targets. There will also be an opportunity for UK and International travel.

The ideal Principal Software Engineer will be degree qualified in a technical subject, have practical knowledge of Software Engineering. You should also have previous experience of technical leadership working with Project Managers to define, monitor & report on the day-to-day technical work of the team. Additionally, having previously worked in the automotive industry would be beneficial.

The Role:

* Principal Software Engineer

* Development on software for battery management systems,

* Design development of software units for driveline systems,

* Whole life-cycle software development for an on-vehicle battery-charging unit.

* Leading technical delivery of software engineering work products according to cost, quality and operational targets

The Person:

* Degree qualified in a technical subject

*Practical knowledge of Software Engineering

* Previous experience working in the automotive industry is beneficial

* Previous experience of technical leadership
