Our client is an innovative not-for-profit organisation that helps to make life better for older people in the UK. They are now looking for a Senior Technical Support Officer to join their team in Cardiff.

As a Senior Technical Support Officer, you will take responsibility for our client’s technical solutions and services.  

This role will allow you to gain and maintain specialist knowledge of the organisation’s technical infrastructure whilst delivering industry standard technical solutions.  

You will act as the first point of contact for specific systems and provide BAU support across the organisation on a daily basis.  

Your role will also involve:  

- Working within a Windows 2012/16 Hyper-V environment 

- Developing and supporting key technical and infrastructure systems  

- Installing and configuring hardware and applications  

- Supporting the roll-out of new systems and tech  

- Ensuring the security of the network, infrastructure and data  

- Providing backend server support  

- Troubleshooting system and network problems  

To be considered, you will need:  

- Experience of working within a similar IT environment  

- Experience of Hyper-V and Windows RDS 

- Experience of working within a fast-paced organisation, supporting a diverse busy team, and managing a varied workload  

- The ability to drive and willingness to travel as required for the role  

The ideal Senior Technical Support Officer will be educated to degree level in a related discipline, or with a similar level of experience, ideally with recognisable IT skills or qualifications. Knowledge of ITIL Service management would also be highly beneficial.

This is a full time role, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional out of hours working will be required, including providing telephone cover for every 1 in 6 weekends.
