You're a Developer - why would you want to become a DevOps Engineer?

Well, despite some of the misconceptions, a DevOps engineer writes tons of code and does not work the third shift.

But you'll do so much more than just write code - you'll build tools, design infrastructure, scale systems, automate, get heavily involved in security, become a database guru and build fantastic systems expertise.

You'll also be all things continuous integration, continuous integration testing and continuous deployment.

All these skills are directly applicable to software engineering, they will make you an even stronger engineer - all you need is a company who will train you, support you and give you an environment to grow in. After that happens, your career prospects are much stronger than they ever were before.

You're joining a development team made up of some seriously talented engineers for you to learn from - including a Technical Director with a background working with the likes of Moneysupermarket.com.

This development team are backed by angel investors that have helped launch some of the world's most successful FinTech companies - so you have direction from people who know what they are doing.

Their products are built in PHP, MySQL, MongoDB, Git, AWS with a CI/CD platform (Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity) - so lots for you to learn here.

However you don't need to know all the tech, they are prepared to train you - as long as you know PHP or another similar language (maybe Java or C#), you have some experience with differing relational and non-relational database engines, and you're keen to learn everything there is to know about DevOps - they'd love to speak with you!

The salary for your first position as a DevOps Engineer is between £30,000 - £35,000 + benefits like a 10% bonus, 25 days holiday, healthcare and pension, and a very flexible working hours policy.
