Technical Applications Engineer (Teamcenter, NX) - Bristol or Leicester

Role Description

We currently have an opportunity for a Technical Applications Engineer (Teamcenter, NX) to join the Engineering Team working within a large defence organisation in Bristol.

Responsibilities

The Technical Applications Engineer is part of the engineering Team and reports to the Chief Draughtsperson. The main purpose of the role is to ensure the needs of the engineering function are met by the technical applications available to them. The Technical Applications Engineer will work closely with both the engineering function (to capture and understand their needs) and the IT department (to deliver the tools).

Typical tasks and responsibilities include:

* Capture and manage the requirements of the current technical applications offering (primarily Teamcenter and NX).

* Understand the current suite of technical tools used in the business, especially the PLM, Teamcenter Engineering, and provide expert knowledge and advice to the engineering team when

* Promote better understanding of the technical applications within the engineering team Identify technical applications projects (upgrades, fixes, new tools, new user processes etc.) needed to improve performance. These will need to be fed-back to IT Technical Applications to evaluate and carry out the work.

* Capture, define, record and disseminate best practice use of Technical Applications.

Required Skills and Experience / Qualifications

* An expert knowledge of Teamcenter; NX knowledge is desirable

* Experience in the defence, nuclear, naval, engineering or aerospace sectors preferred

* Must be able to work well as part of a team and have good interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with all levels within manufacturing, supply chain, engineering and IT

* Holds, or is eligible for SC Security clearance

Location

The location of this position is flexible and can either be based in Bristol or Leicester.

Security

Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment.

The role will be in an environment regulated by Trade Control legislation and involve working with controlled goods, technology and/or services. This may require you to meet enhanced security and regular screening checks.
