Assistant Accountant

A leading global recruitment company in Glasgow are seeking to appoint a UK and Ireland Assistant Accountant. If you can demonstrate experience/knowledge of supporting Regional Financial Accountants and have the ability to assist with the delivery of accurate regional management information, you could be the UK&I Regional Assistant Accountant we're looking for.

What will you be doing?

As an Assistant Accountant for this region, you'll be responsible for preparing post-monthly journals including payroll postings, accruals and prepayments and regional specific cost adjustments; aassisting AP Non-Trade with invoice coding and posting review; analysing trends and comparing against plan & prior year before month end close. You'll also take ownership of the monthly accounts close for the specific region and assist in the monthly variance analysis and commentary production providing insightful analysis in a clear and concise manner.

What skills/experience should you have?

* Good commercial awareness

* Good knowledge of financial and management reporting preferred

* Excellent written and oral communication skills

* Good analytical skills with the ability to explain complex financial matters clearly and concisely

* MS Office experience in VLOOKUPS, SUMIF, Pivot Tables with an excellent standard of formatting

* Good working knowledge of financial systems (with previous experience of SAP, BW & Business Objects preferred).

* Resourceful and have good attention to detail

* Self-starter with the ability to prioritise workloads with minimal supervision
