SOC Security Consultant - £70,000 - £85,000 - Multiple locations (South)

As a SOC Security Consultant, you will be working for the Consulting arm of a major Cyber Consultancy based in the South, dealing with the Security Operation Centres (SOCs) of their clients, mainly focused on those in London and the South East.

In terms of the role itself, you would be visiting the Security Operation Centres of their clients, assessing where they are in terms of their maturity and advising on improvements with a view to refining their internal security posture. This can range from evaluating where in terms of ability certain analysts are (and what courses they should go on to remediate gaps on knowledge), to process improvement, solutions that might be of help or even services they could benefit from (not just from the consultancy).

Ideally you'd be in a SOC Lead or SOC Manager-esque role where you would have/had (currently or previously) oversight on the overall operations of a firms defensive security teams. Priority would be given to those who have led the development and maturity of a SOC team from scratch in addition to people with a broad knowledge of the defensive security solution environment from a selection, usage and implementation perspective (e.g. end-to-end architecture of a SOC tools and their transitioning to BAU activities). As it's a consultancy role, a background in consultancy helps but is by no means a requirement.

This organisation are at the cutting edge of Cyber Security, with a number of the finest technical minds in the industry across a collaborative, supportive team who are passionate within Security - Additionally, whilst you're not on client site you have the opportunity to expand your knowledge through certifications and training courses, writing whitepapers and research or even just attending conferences (e.g. InfoSec Europe, IPExpo, 44Con or BlackHat).

If you feel this role would be of interest to you, please do not hesitate to apply or reach out to me on LinkedIn (Samuel S. Berti, Computer Futures).

If you know anyone that might be interested in the role, don't be afraid to point them in my direction; we're currently offering £200 of John Lewis vouchers to anyone who refers someone that later gets a job through us!
