About the Team:
Maintaining and evolving national 2G, 3G & 4G RAN Designs, supporting delivery of the Telefonica O2 customer experience targets and performance objectives. Achieved through the evaluation and implementation of new Hardware capability, across our Macro and Small Cell infrastructure.
Standardisation of network design, documentation, creation best practice guidelines and provide support to our regional colleagues.
Primary purpose of role is to facilitate the creation of O2 UK RAN Base Station Hardware solution configurations. Engaging internal and external stakeholders for the approval of supporting documentation in to BAU activities. Support the introduction of new RAN capabilities and products, provide Technical and Commercial support to internal stakeholders, and strategic partners i.e. CTIL.
-Overseeing the creation of Radio Design Requirements (HLDs) by RAN vendors and supporting translation into tangible configurations for sta
-Support and evolve configuration & inventory management naming convention of all approved RAN configurations. Ensuring all are accurate, clearly documented and disseminated throughout tools & systems
-Liaise with RAN Vendor Managers to ensure completeness and correctness of the 2G, 3G & 4G Price Books and ensures the correct configuration prices are available for use within the rest of the business
-To organise and conduct regional workshops, when required, to assist in communicating any changes to basic site design criteria and RF configurations. Creation of supporting reference material, `Data Sheets` & `Radio Engineering Bulletins`
-Ensure all new technologies / capabilities are translated into the relevant configurations and disseminated within the rest of the business
-Facilitate the creation of `Non-Standard` Hardware configurations, obtaining and approving official quotations from RAN Vendors to deliver requirement
-Facilitate Non-RF Hardware deployment options. Ensuring all deployment scenarios are catered for through liaison with Regional teams
Skills & experience:
-Experience with Nokia and/or Ericsson 2G, 3G and 4G Base Station Hardware solutions. Other RAN vendor experience beneficial, but not essential.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills, in particular a proven record in developing and presenting Technical Workshops ranging from Executive to Field Engineering knowledge base
-Ability to make reasoned decisions, based on both Technical and Commercial criteria
-Fully conversant and proficient with all Microsoft Office applications
-Self-motivated, team player, with dynamic approach
-Basic understanding of 2G, 3G and 4G technologies, desirable.
-Educated to HNC/HND level, in Engineering or ScienceGrade: PTG
