My Client operates a framework of controls over the security of its IT systems and electronic information that ensures protection against loss of confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability and reporting to a level consistent with the associated risks.

The Digital Security & Risk (DS&R) Solution Delivery team is accountable for delivering investment projects and leading change programmes within Digital Security & Risk. One of the key areas of focus is the Counter Threat Programme, a multi-year endeavour that is focussed on increasing control and improving security to reduce the risk of information loss, system disruption and reputational damage from advanced cyber threats.

The Business Analyst will join the existing Retail Delivery Programme team and initially provide business analyst expertise for the Retail Monitoring project but will be expected to work on other security projects (to be determined) for approximately 50% of their time.

Key Accountabilities:

Specific tasks / activities, management, reporting, interfaces etc. Ideally about 5 distinct statements, describing the role in more detail, in terms of activities and output core to this role

A service-oriented BA who can work through scenarios and issues and capture the current state and transition to the new service. Investigating and analysing business activities and processes and looking to make them more efficient through the improved use of IT resources. Business Analyst tasks within the project’s lifecycle are to be managed and progress reported into the Project Manager.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing/updating, through workshops as necessary, both functional and non-functional requirements;

Working closely with project personnel, and in particular the Architect and Technical SME to ensure updated business requirements are verified and complete and that business resource is engaged throughout the project;

Carrying out business process mapping, identifying areas for improvement, business process re-engineering and business process analysis where needed;

Assisting in Pilot with vendor;

Analysing Pilot results, drawing up conclusions, mapping back into current use case models and gaining agreement for them;

Documenting ‘As-Is’ and ‘To-Be’ processes and procedures;

Assisting in test planning and testing, feeding into the test strategy and test approach and producing any relevant materials to ensure business requirements are met;

Developing and/or reviewing user acceptance testing scenarios and training materials as needed;

Working with the Project Manager to ensure planning of all Business Analyst work packages is done to a suitable level and to realistic timeframes;

Develop the service model with input from the project team;

Monitoring and reporting progress of agreed work packages to the Project Manager, highlighting any concerns or gaps that will impact the projects ability to deliver;

Involvement in deployment planning and deployment approach;

Essential Experience & job Requirements:

Specific demonstrable experience/ skills/ behaviours/ professional) expected for the role. Make this specific to the "Key Accountabilities", ensure scope, scale and specific skill & experience are referenced.

The BA will be able to demonstrate experience of delivery using traditional practices but working to an iterative delivery approach, to fit large, complex, mission-critical, enterprise-level projects. Candidates are expected to be able to demonstrate:

Five years’ experience in security consulting in large corporate environments;

Experience of defining operational arrangements and onboarding new services with: SLA and OLA;

Strong Business Analysis using a variety of techniques;

Presenting recommendations to different stakeholders and gaining sign-off by addressing queries from different stakeholders;

Ability to create support models and also produce all the required documentation to support the transition to business as usual.

Sound understanding of project delivery processes having worked within delivery frameworks such as PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent;

Experience working with technical and non-technical teams across a broad range of IT disciplines;

Documenting business, security, technical and operational requirements derived from self-driven business workshops and user forums;

Working with end-users on IT deployment projects relating to infrastructure and applications deployments;

Engagement with key stakeholders at senior levels in the business and IT organisation, demonstrating leadership;

Requirements gathering for large complex projects with a wide range of stakeholders.

Desirable Criteria & Qualifications:

Additional experiences / skills / education that would be of benefit but are not essential.

Appreciation and understanding of the organization, IT&S standards and project management processes;

Previous cyber security project BA roles.
