Job Title - Database Administrator

Location - London

Duration - 3-6 Months

*Support the discovery assessment of the Microsoft Access application assessing the viability of porting the table design to Postgresql. Instantiate the AWS Postgresql (Aurora) instance, design and implement the Postgresql backend. Aid in the migration of data to the cloud.

*Support the business in the assessment of the operational stability of the Postgresql database against the Microsoft Access application.

Outline Activities

*Inspection of the Microsoft access tables and definition of their Postgresql equivalents, assessing the viability of their porting.

*Refactor the Microsoft Access application - perform 'Re-linking' of the Access tables to AWS cloud Postgres (Aurora) tables. Support the business in test application is operating correctly in new configuration.

*Data Migration - support the planning and conduct of extraction and migration of data from on-prem to cloud.

Skillset

*Fundamentals of relational databases

*Experience in forms products that can interrogate Postgres (ideally open source forms products)

*Postgres database design and implementation experience - tables and indexes

*Postgres database development - stored procedures (potential requirement)

*Amazon AWS Postgres instance experience - preferable AWS Aurora variant
