We are currently recruiting for ME Process Modelling Engineers which will initially be based on the Isle of Wight and later relocated to Bristol. In this role you will become part of a wider Rolls-Royce Automation community creating digital twins for our products across their lifecycle.

Your knowledge and experience in Composites will help us in becoming a 'centre of competence' positioning Bristol as the hub for Composite activity in the UK. You will have the opportunity to be part of an industrialisation team that will set up CTAL's composite pre-production and production facility on the Rolls-Royce Bristol campus. You will work in an advanced manufacturing facility at the forefront of developing the next generation of fan blades and fan cases, made of carbon-fibre composite materials, for Rolls-Royce's future aero engines.

Key Accountabilities

* Develop the manufacturing elements of a component design system for Composite components.

* Support, maintain and enhance the existing CAM toolsets.

* Work closely with the Design Science applications team to feedback and deliver improvement modifications as appropriate.

* Drive standardisation across the automation projects and ensure compliance with Rolls-Royce software quality standards.

* There will be regular travel required to the Isle of Wight during 2018.

Qualifications

* Degree level qualification, or higher, in an engineering subject or equivalent with a strong aptitude for programming.

* Knowledge and experience of software development and SOLID principles.

* Experience of implementing the MVC software architecture pattern.

* Knowledge and understanding of Siemens NX software and the NXOpen API.

* Ability to code in C# e.g. although supplementary language training will be provided for the right candidate.

* Experience of GIT.

* Experience of Test Driven Development.

* Application of high level maths and linear algebra to machine control including the use of matrices, cross products TNB frames etc. to manipulate Cartesian spaces.

* Knowledge and understanding of Numerical Control kinematic models.
