An exciting opportunity has arisen for a temporary Junior Analyst/Programmer to join the Chichester office of an Investment Management company, for a fixed term period of 6 months.
The purpose of the role is to provide SQL and programming support for special projects and any new developments/existing infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, the Intranet site, Oracle Servers, internally developed applications and Pulse software.
Responsibilities also include the production and maintenance of technical support and user documentation, identification of areas where systems could be established to improve the use of data, supporting staff in the roll out of new solutions and, on occasions, providing assistance to the IT Support Team.
The job holder is likely to have a relevant degree e.g. Computer Science (CS) or combined CS and Business. Alternatively the job holder will have a maths or science degree. They will have knowledge of ITIL (IT management) processes and a high level of numeracy. A strong background in database development is also required.
The ideal candidates will have generic Investment and Regulatory knowledge, knowledge of the markets in which the firm is active and the data, systems and processes which these involve. Knowledge of methods to obtain and analyse financial data (e.g. Interactive Data) is also desirable.
