We are recruiting for our Global Consulting Client for their project to be based on client site . This is Permanent role.

Skills and Experience:

Essential

Unix Scripting (bash or KSH)

Database language skills (UDB and (Oracle or Sql Server)

Good interpersonal skills, both written and spoken

Must be able to work on own initiative to tight deadlines

Must support the production and be prepared to provide out of hours support as required

Desirable

Database language skills (MongoDB/Mysql/Postgresql/Cassandra)

Unix Operating system

Windows Operating System (only for SQL Server skill)

A degree and financial experience

SQL scripting

Knowledge of ANSIBLE

Role Responsibilities:

Provide technical expertise of UDB DB2 plus at least one other from Oracle and SQL Server.

Automation of DBA tasks incluing BAU and Builds using Python, YAML or Shell Scripting

Installation, configuration and support of databases in Linux systems

Performance monitoring and tuning of databases and the database server infrastructure

Analyse and remediate any incidents within agreed SLAs

Close liaison and working relationships with application development teams, suppliers and

internal systems management and support teams

Problem solving and resolution of complex issues

Operate flexibly both as a member of the team and independently

Self training of skills required by the team

Identify and implement any useful process that can be automated

Role Summary:

You will be part of a team of DBA's supporting DB2 UDB, SQL Server, Oracle, Postgresql, Mysql, MongoDB and Cassandra databases running on virtual and physical non-clustered and clustered database Servers.

The role will cover working in Production, Test and Development environments performing the following tasks: -

Database creation, performance tuning, capacity management, backup and recovery management, security management, documentation, patching and upgrading.
