Front Office Sales and Trading Business Analyst - Investment Banking

Experienced Business Analyst (min. 5 years) with Front Office experience and strong analytical skills with a proven track-record of liaising between Sales / trading teams and IT developers to solve complex business problems. Previous exposure to big-data / real-time insight projects to support Sales optimisation efforts, highly desirable. Working with the Sales Tools development team who are responsible for the design and development of a number of applications that are integral to the sales desktop. Our client is seeking to appoint an experienced business analyst with good knowledge of Front Office Sales processes and tools that support that function. The candidate should have a proven track-record of partnering with the Front Office and IT teams to identify, analyse and define functional change in the Sales Tools space.

Experience Required

Min. 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in a Capital Markets FO environment.

Experience working with distributed teams including in-house and offshore development teams

Experience in structuring User Acceptance criteria and leading end-to-end tests

Experience of working under a formal project process methodology and co-ordinating activities within an enterprise environment

Familiarity with defect logging systems (e.g. JIRA) and defect testing and re-testing cycles

Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written with experience in leading cross-functional workshops

                                      

Desirable

Experience in testing complex flows distributed across the full value chain

Demonstrable understanding of having supported requirements definition in agile / DevOps environments (or similar)

Knowledge of relevant industry and market trends, especially the emergence of Fintech, and their potential impact / opportunities for established players

Project leadership skills

The Banks Global Markets have recently undertaken a huge programme of work and identified a number of opportunities to further enhance their digital offering. The role is highly client facing and will require the candidate to lead workshops with the Front Office and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Liaise with business sponsors and users to understand and capture business requirements and provide functional specifications to development teams

Lead engagement with Front Office sales and traders users to i) develop understanding and receive feedback about the usage of the electronic markets applications maintained by the team and ii) communicate the complexities downstream

Manage and escalate risks and issues

Work with Vendor solutions (if required) and leverage on internal functions to ensure proper integration

Liaise with Product Management and On-Shore / Off-Shore Development teams to ensure accurate functional coverage and validate test scenarios

Define, coordinate and execute front to back business level testing and the validation of new business-critical functionalities and/or bug fixes (covering the full scope of the value chain)

Ensure all functional requirements are fully satisfied to a high quality prior to release
