A leading consultancy are currently in need of an experienced System Integrator to work on site at a leading telecommunications client based in Winnersh. This is a long-term contract role paying a very competitive daily rate.
The Client is a large European cable operator offering quad-play to its customers. The client is deploying a new set of mobile, broadband, voice and TV products in several of its European markets. The client is looking for a System Integrator to join its IT group to manage the delivery of these solutions. The System Integrator will work closely with architects, development teams and vendors providing components of the solution. The role would include putting together plans, managing the building of various environments, end-to-end test coordination and planning and supporting the systems Go Live activities.
Main responsibilities:
Prepare the project plan for multiple workstreams, including key milestones & dependencies
Define the required hardware & software components / versions for the different environments (JIT, UAT, and PROD)
Raise and manage CRs to deliver all environments across affiliates, including connectivity matrixes
Support the testing effort by taking an active part in test cases development, planning and execution.
Drive the resolution of incidents by coordinating different parties (architecture, delivery, vendors…).
Prepare detailed 'Go Live' plans and drive their execution
Support all technical and operational trials before the products are launched commercially
Work with operations to ensure a clear Support Model and Incident Management processes are in place prior to launch
Engage in all relevant vendor discussions as well as technical discussions with Architecture or internal IT delivery functions
Manage key risks and issues
Act as IT's central point of contact with respect to other corporate groups or affiliates
Support the project lead in preparing and delivering Steering Committee status reports
Key skills and experience required:
7+ years SI experience in a very fast paced delivery environment
Must have a technical background
Some experience of networking - IP addressing, naming, certification, etc
Some experience of Oracle / database management - user creation, partitioning, etc
Takes extreme ownership in driving projects, filling in organisational gaps as required
Managing vendor deliveries
Pro-active individual - able to see issues and suggest solutions before they arise
Has extensive project management and team delivery experience in high paced client environments
Takes responsibility for representing multiple technical teams in communicating with the business
Aggressively manages risks and issues and uses escalation effectively
Experience managing matrix organisations
Highly desirable skills and experience:
3 years recent telecoms delivery experience
Experience of fixes line, VOIP or IMS
Experience of large scale business transformation programs
Experience of ITIL
