NICE was originally set up in 1999 as the National Institute for Clinical Excellence, a special health authority, to reduce variation in the availability and quality of NHS treatments and care.

Job description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join an interesting, creative and forward-thinking company based in Manchester. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join our team as an Apprentice Web Operations Engineer within the Digital Services department.

As an Apprentice Web Operations Engineer at NICE you will:

Assist with the build and configuration of new secure server platforms and the automated tooling to do so.

Assist with the maintenance of existing infrastructure and suggest improvements.

Be a continual learner, keeping up to date with modern infrastructure tools and techniques.

Contribute to the WebOps community of practise by sharing knowledge and skills.

Communication and relationships

Working closely with colleagues to help identify and implement the most appropriate solutions to problems.

Assisting other members of the Digital Services Operations team in dealing with and resolving support issues within agreed service level agreements

Analytical and judgemental

Analysing and reflecting on solutions and issues so that learning is identified and absorbed

Analysing faults, helping to identify potential solutions and selecting the most appropriate route given a contentious list of requirements.

In depth analysis of complex issues with systems and/or data.

Planning and organisational

Learning to deal with competing priorities to meet the demands of the role.

Helping to identifying new and alternative approaches to performing activities in order to optimise the current working practices and contribute to continuous improvement across the department

Learning to deal effectively with uncertain situations and optimising opportunities, and understanding the need to seek clarity when unsure.

Proactive in identifying barriers to change and seeking ways to overcome them.

Being aware of cost implications of failures or incorrect technical decisions.

Essential requirement:

An intermediate level of Microsoft Work and PowerPoint

An intermediate understanding of Microsoft Excel is essential such as creating charts, although development will be provided to take this to an advanced level.
