Following the success of their previous recruitment exercise, a highly experienced and personable design and development company, based in the centre of Exeter, are looking for a design-aware web developer to join their growing team.

The work undertaken within this role is varied and exciting. The company regularly collaborate on projects with several industry-renowned, London-based design and branding agencies. Alongside these projects, the successful applicant will enjoy working with clients located both nearby and afar, with projects currently being undertaken for businesses based in Italy, UAE and the United States.

The candidate should have experience building responsive websites from supplied design files, using semantic HTML5, jQuery, SASS/CSS and PHP. Experience extracting assets and generating SVGs with Adobe Creative Suite is also required.

A working knowledge of WordPress is desired, but not essential - a key aspect of the role is bespoke WordPress theme development, based on supplied artwork, produced in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.

The creative director or one of the many design agencies the company collaborates with on a regular basis will provide desktop, tablet and mobile artwork. In response, pixel-perfect templates are to be developed, with clean, concise code, that adheres to the latest web standards.

This role will require acute attention to detail and the ability to integrate the latest front-end technologies into your development tasks on a regular basis. Their latest projects have required use of Greensock, ScrollMagic and Ajax for elegant page transitions and efficient content delivery. Whilst experience with these technologies is not required, a desire to learn and push the boundaries of your development skills is crucial.

The successful candidate will have the ability to

- Manage their own projects and workload

- Be comfortable with communicating directly with clients

- Keen to integrate themselves into a small but experienced team.

A three month probationary period will lead to permanent employment, if successful.

Please submit examples of previous development work within your CV as this cannot be sent in separately.
