Senior BI Consultant - Edinburgh

5 month contract £375 - £425 per day (outside IR35)

Spring Technology is looking for an experienced BI Consultant to fulfil a key contract with a Public Sector body in Edinburgh. The role of Senior BI Consultant is within the Business Intelligence team and will be responsible for the development, unit testing and maintenance of Apex 5.1 reports and dashboards. This involves migrating data between internal and external systems using various ETL techniques and data storage practices.

The successful applicant will also be working within an improvement project that moves the current interim BI environments and working methods to defined and agreed set of practices contained within the Solution Architecture Document. This work will involve creating bus matrices of all current reports and dashboards and replacing the underlying material views with dimensional models within a data warehouse, yet to be constructed.

Essential skills:

*Minimum of 5 years experience of Apex development

*Minimum of 5 years experience of SQL and PL/SQL development

*Minimum of 5 years experience of ETL development

*Minimum of 5 years experience of Data Analysis

*Minimum of 5 years experience of Data Modelling for relational systems and reporting systems [traditional relational and star schema modelling]

*Minimum of 5 years experience of Oracle Forms & Reports development

*Minimum of 5 years experience of Oracle Discoverer development

Desirable skills:

*An understanding of Software development methodologies [Waterfall and Agile]

*Exposure to Data Warehousing concepts

*An ability to work to tight deadlines

*Works well in teams sharing knowledge and responsibilities;

*Strong process knowledge and orientation.
