DevOps Engineer/Contract/5 months/Croydon

Spring Technology are currently recruiting for a DevOps Engineer to work with our client in Croydon. This is a contract position based for an initial 5 month period; the pay for this role is £535. The successful candidate is responsible for leading design and creating a highly efficient, metrics-driven, DevOps working model. This role really involves spinning up environments in AWS so tooling would include NuGet/NPM/Maven, an understanding of how Visual Studio is used to deploy packages into environments, and Powershell, Cloudformation and Jenkins.

Key skills for the role include:

*Experience reviewing existing pre-production environment provision and create/provision environments and tooling as necessary to support pre-production testing.

*Experience supporting the lead technical architect in designing the full technology stack for deployment and deploy the stack into the relevant environments.

*The ability to define and prepare production environment and define tooling approach.

*Preparing a custom private AMI / EBS Windows OS volume for a single EC2 Instance.

*Scripting custom PowerShell for IIS runtime instances

*Scripting PowerShell for custom MS SQL database instancing in auto scale situations.

*WAF configurations for session routing and rules to mitigate attacks (DDoS, Brute Force etc.)

*Infrastructure as Code development (CloudFormation and TerraForm)

*Possible windows packaging experience.

*Deploying AWS VPN Connections / devices

*Deploying AWS WAF

*Deploying Load Balancers

*Developing ACLs for network security groups.

*Hardening of security (storage accounts etc)

*Developing auto scaling

*Configuring monitoring and reporting and troubleshooting performance issues.

*Capacity Analysis and Planning

*Managing Test Runs and on-the-fly environment tweeks.

*Awareness of how to test and implement automation tools.
