Salary: £90,000 - £110,000 + comprehensive benefits package

A Customer Account Director (Utilities Industry) is required to join an exciting Start-up Utility with exciting expansion plans based in East Anglia and Durham. The successful Customer Account Director (Utilities Industry) will come from a background in Account Management, Customer Retention and Customer Acquisition in the SME/I&C markets, ideally within Energy Retail or Water Retail. This is a Board Level job so the successful Customer Account Director (Utilities Industry) must possess a high amount of gravitas and strategic leadership skills.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

* Must possess experience working in the Energy or Utilities industry (B2B/SME/I&C Markets)

* Need to be an excellent manager of people with both leadership skills and also with a 'hands-on' approach to achieving targets and leading by example

* Superlative communication skills to liaise and co-operate with multiple departments in the business and also represent the Business at industry events as a brand ambassador and spokesperson

* Must be commercially astute with the ability to identify business growth opportunities, manage customer retention and work with sales and marketing to plan on the growth strategy

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

* A proven track record in building a SME/I&C Customer portfolio will stand out on CVs

* A Head of Department/Director with evidence of growing a B2B/SME/I&C Customer Function through effective & strategic Account Management in Energy/Water is massively advantageous

* Experience of helping implement a Customer Billing Platform would be beneficial, but not Essential

Day to Day Role:

As Customer Account Director (Utilities Industry), you will have a phenomenal opportunity to join a heavily, financially backed start-up Utility with exciting expansion plans in the industry.

With offices in Durham, East Anglia and also a small, new office in Romford, you will be tasked with working with the senior leadership team (reporting into the CEO) and managing a team of c20 FTE Account Managers for SME and I&C Customers, taking a hands-on approach to develop and implement an effective Customer Retention strategy and seizing opportunities to grow and develop existing accounts through liaising with the Sales and Marketing teams, HR, Billing team and through attending industry events.

The role will require bi-weekly travel between the main offices to coach, manage and inspire the Account Managers, offering advice and support and looking at competitive strategies to be a leader in the market.

You must possess a high level of gravitas to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and report on any potential issues which will stop the successful growth and customer retention strategy within the business.
