The Role:

* Commercial leadership in developing new business opportunities

* Maintaining and creating client relationships globally

* Generating compelling proposals that demonstrate value to our customers

* You will understand our clients business, industry and trends to build and sell solutions that respond to their needs

* Defining new business streams for hybrid and electric vehicle battery systems and developing associated selling strategies and supporting material through collaboration it the global teams, other product groups, market sectors, commercial and engineering teams to develop and sell a portfolio of high value solutions

* Providing lead in developing business opportunities with relevant material and preparing proposals (documentation, plans, costing, commercial package) for global customers through to order conversion including successful contract negotiations

The Person:

* You are a degree qualified, and ideally chartered, engineer with a significant industry track record in high voltage battery systems product design & application.

In order to be successful, you should be able to demonstrate:

* Your background in hybrid and electric vehicle battery systems product development and/or business development at a Tier 1, OEM or consultancy

* Your history of defining and preparing winning proposals, with the ability to develop strong, long-lasting customer relationships at senior level and profitable revenue streams

* Understanding of cell chemistry's used in hybrid & electric vehicles.

* Knowledge of battery system architectures and battery management systems

* Experience of electrical and electronic component integration (up to 1000V), design & development on low volume or high volume products (connectors, bus bars, cables, contractor's & fusing)

* Your understanding of project delivery within a systems engineering environment and familiarity with the delivery process from requirements capture through to design validation.

* Your experience in compliance engineering to external standards, such as, EMC, vehicle safety, functional safety ISO26262 etc and in delivering DFMEA for hybrid or electric vehicle systems

* Your ability to plan projects and experience of delivering projects within budget and within the scoped time

* Your real passion for crafting new ideas and new business

* Your enthusiastic and self-motivated personality, which compliments your drive and dedication to deliver technically challenging projects

* Flexibility on work location and prepared to travel within the UK and internationally on short assignments.

* Strong leadership, teamwork, organisation, oral communication, and written communication skills and ability to coordinate and lead multi-disciplined teams
