We are actively looking to secure an innovative and pragmatic Systems Engineer to join Experis as one of our expert consultants. The role is based in Sheffield with a Salary of £50,000 - £55,000 with a 5% bonus.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

* Own and run technologies as a domain subject matter expert in a small autonomous Infrastructure & Security squad

* Be a strong Site Reliability Engineering practitioner with broad Dev/Sec/Ops skills

* Run and delivers value streams independently, with support from the rest of the team

* At a senior domain engineer level:

* Act as a go-to subject matter expert for the squad on technologies, advising the squad on their domains best practice and best way to deliver squad goals

* Lead in operational incidents for the squad

How you will do it:

* Support and develop our squad products and services

* Work closely with other teams, implementing changes that help improve speed and release quality

* Be a go-to domain expert on critical components making up the squad products and services

* Own issues from initial diagnosis through to implementation of a fix

* Write and keep up to date documentation

* Challenge and suggest improvements to existing systems or processes on an ongoing basis

Skills and Experience

Essential

* Windows (2012R2)/Linux (RHEL6/RHEL7)

* Active Directory/LDAP

* Knowledge of automation tools (Chef)

* Experience of working within an agile environment

Desirable

* Monitoring tools - Opsview/Prometheus

* Storage management (NetApp AFF/A700, IBM XIV)

* Backup/Restore management (NetBackup)
