Salesforce Technical Architect

Responsibilities

* Cooperate with the product owner and lead product architect to propose design options balancing user needs, value for money, adherence to the Salesforce architectural and design principles, technology product roadmap, and Technology and Enterprise Architecture strategy, while mitigating delivery and operational risk

* Build close working relationships with key subject matter experts within the business teams, Salesforce analysts, architects and engineers

* Support the backlog refinement process by providing technical advice to the Salesforce product owner to support prioritisation and sequencing decisions

* Create and maintain software build and release artefacts including diagrams, models and documents to communicate the technology solution to all interested stakeholders

* Work with an agile attitude and a positive technical culture, promoting emergent architectures, doing work upfront and throughout the entire devops life cycle. Assure the realisation of architectural goals by playing an active role in the delivery cycles

* Play a key mentor role for the software development partner, providing a point of contact when architectural direction is required

* Participate in communication across multiple development teams to identify strategic requirements and dependencies

* Help engineering by contributing code, testing technologies and producing rapid prototypes

* Mentor developers, setting standards and helping to meet delivery targets

* Advise product managers and product owners on the estimated effort and technical implications of current user stories, as well as those in the backlog

* Advance the automation of engineering through continuous integration and continuous delivery pipeline practices, tools and technologies.

Essential skills

* Product Architect experience

* Solution and system architecture skills (including data, application, and infrastructure), with a good understanding of architectural concepts, methodologies and mapping approaches

* Salesforce development competency; you are likely to be trained to a level equivalent to Salesforce Trailhead developer intermediate and advanced, and have applied the learning to solutions that are in the hands of users

* A deep understanding of current good practice for application architectures with experience of complex enterprise scale applications and engineering

* Experience of designing systems or components for platforms delivering thousands of features to tens of thousands of users across multiple, highly disparate user profiles

* Experience of working as an active, committed member of delivery teams throughout the entire life cycle of technology delivery

* A current and active knowledge of technology and technology trends relating to enterprise scale architectures and platforms, including software as a service, cloud and integration

* Experience with working as an integrated member of teams comprised of staff, contractors, consultants and partner staff working in a geographically distributed manner to ensure the delivery of high quality solutions that conform to the solution architecture defined

* Experience with formal architectural methodologies and frameworks, including TOGAF

* Experience with formal development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, UP, RUP, iterative, waterfall)

* Experience of working within major corporate or government technology environments where effective governance and quality frameworks are in place

* Experience in being managed in a matrix environment

* Affinity for change, the ability to identify opportunities and lead others through organisational and technology change

* Strong risk management skills to manage architectural risk through the delivery lifecycle

* Good level of commercial awareness, the ability to understand supplier proposals and promote cost effective solutions

* Experience working concurrently with multiple solutions service providers

* Experience of stakeholder management at all levels, both internally and externally

* Experience in complex and significant Oracle technology "Red Stack", especially Oracle Fusion Middleware

* A deep and up-to-date working understanding of service-oriented and microservice architectures

* Experience with Amazon web services (AWS) or other cloud platforms

* Experience with or a basic understanding of CloudFlare next gen Content Delivery Network or equivalent services

* One or more agile certifications

* High-level data modelling understanding and experience.

* Experience of implementing frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, patterns, standards, guidelines and

* TOGAF certification
