C# Backend Developer

Leicester

6 month initial contract

£45.00 p/h Max

C# Backend Developers will be involved in designing and implementing server-based applications for airport software solutions using Microsoft® technologies with Oracle® as the back-end database

* C# server based development (Linq Lambda expressions would be an advantage).

* Database including SQL (Oracle would be preferable but SQL Server as a minimum).

* Experience in an engineering environment (warehousing, automation etc).

* An understanding of interfacing with remote devices (PLCs preferably) would be an advantage.

* General C# Developer competency

* Data base - ideally looking for Oracle user experience but will accept MS Sequel server as well.

* They need to generally understand data bases and data base queries.

* Backend experience is essential - ideally from engineering, industrial, warehouse or automated environments.

* If they have worked in the above environments it gives them the right mind set for engineering work as they will be controlling real time servers (Financial services and commercial is not acceptable)

Knowledge and experience required:

* Experience of writing server based code that interfaces to relational databases such as Oracle and SQL server with at least 5 years of SQL query experience

* Experience in delivering software solutions to commercial clients as opposed to internally led projects

* Experience in writing communications interfaces to external systems using protocols such as TCP/IP Sockets, Siemens S5/S7, Modicon Modbus plus on a Windows server environment using C#, .Net and associated drivers.

* Experience in working on mission critical Microsoft server based applications where high availability is of paramount importance (Server-side code for front-end development is not applicable for this requirement)

* Experience of writing thread safe code in multi-tasking environments with an understanding of asynchronous event processing

* Experience of working in process control, warehouse automation, industrial control logistics or a similar business area.
