Responsibilities
* Manage the network & Infrastructure team
* Help to build the team and create an environment where all employees enjoy themselves whilst at work and make a real contribution to the success of the department and business as a whole
* Responsible for assisting to develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures to support IT Service Level Management, Service Continuity Management, Change Management and Configuration Management ensuring compliance with ITIL principles
* Consult with users and evaluate requirements, recommend designs, provide cost analyses and business cases, plan projects, and coordinate tasks for installation/upgrades of networks and infrastructure
* Closely manage all vendors providing critical Network and/or infrastructure services to the UK business
* Maintain and develop the IT Security policy ensuring that appropriate procedures are put in place to safeguard corporate data
* Manage and report on budgets at an appropriate level to the appropriate people
* Work with other territories as required to share best practice

What we're looking for:

* A tertiary qualification, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems and/or equivalent commercial experience
* MCSE/MCITP EA qualifications preferred or equivalent experience
* Advanced Windows skills including Active Directory design and integration
* Cisco or similar network design experience
* Firewall and security design experience preferably utilising Checkpoint solutions
* Experienced in data centre management and third party vendor management
* Experience of hosted Exchange and Exchange Archive solutions
* Backup architectures and design
* Experience of management and administration of a terminal services environment
* Systems deployment design and standardisation
* At least ITIL v3 Foundation qualified
* Any architecture qualifications (TOGAF etc) would be a bonus
* Demonstrable experience in delivering software projects where your role has been to lead the teams developing the solution
* Experience of technically IT projects involving a range of technologies. For example, server-client architecture, database, Cloud-technologies, networking and software application development.
* A practical understanding of principles and techniques used in shaping and managing the technical aspects of engineering projects, and experience in tailoring development processes for the more complex projects.
* Experience of managing customer/ stakeholder relationships.
* Commercially astute with an understanding of the business context of project work
* Adept in high pressure situations
* Someone who uses evidence for decision making but shows great instinct
* Comfortable with the occasional chaos that comes with working with a highly ambitious and challenging company
* Operationally aware - understands the end to end process for delivering high value projects
* Continually looks for ways to improve the quality of our services and the efficiency of the company.
* A challenger of the norm with a desire to make a real difference in the work they do
* Good knowledge of the SFIA Service Management domain with expertise in Service Design and Service Operation
