What it’s about

Cambridge Assessment is seeking to fill a new position - SAP Solution Manager Consultant to work in our SAP Centre of Excellence. This is an exciting time to join as we look to upgrade and add new functionality to our SAP Solution Manager system.

As a SAP Solution Manager Consultant you will be a subject matter expert taking a lead role in designing and shaping our SAP Landscape You will be working closely with other SAP CoE staff, IT Services and 3rd Party Suppliers giving guidance and strategic input and influencing key decisions to deliver SAP’S latest technologies.

What you’ll be doing

Design, Implement and test Application Lifecycle Management functionalities of SAP Solution Manager.

Responsible for overall SAP Solution Manager Strategy roadmap and implementation timelines.

Responsible for the successful delivery of the SAP Solution Manager landscapes including integration to third party tools.

Review project requirements and identify gaps in the functionality of Solution Manager Application required to assist project delivery and monitoring.

Initiate, co-ordinate and deliver new developments and implementation of system changes.

Create and review training materials, educate other members of the SAP Centre of Excellence.

Ensure the SAP Solution Manager systems operate reliably and efficiently in a secure environment. This includes assisting with the configuration and maintenance of High Availability and Disaster Recovery of SAP solutions.

Provide expert advice to help inform Line Management about the technical capabilities of Solution Manager. To assess the feasibility of proposed projects to ensure appropriateness of solutions and to maintain alignment with the wider technical framework.

Participate in out of hours support when projects go-live if required.

Ability to produce quality documentation and explain technical concepts to customers in plain English and ensure the adherence of SAP standards and best practice.

Build and maintain effective relationships and lines of communication with other IT Teams, third party suppliers and the Business Streams to facilitate effective delivery

What we’re looking for

Qualifications

Required:

Educated to a degree level or equivalent real life experience

Desirable:

ITIL v3 Foundation

SAP Certifications

Skills

Required:

Analytical and logical thinking process

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with good customer focus

Strong technical knowledge of SAP Solution Manager

Stakeholder management skills

Strong motivational skills.

Desirable:

Suitable technical knowledge of other SAP technologies e.g. SAP HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP C4C, SAP PI, SAP Netweaver and Business Objects BI/BODS.

Awareness of basic project management methods and processes

Experience

Required:

Detailed understanding of SAP & SAP methodologies.

Functional and Technical experience with SAP Solution Manager.

Able to map technical business needs to SAP architectures, standards and reusable assets.

Deep understanding and experience in SAP Solution Manager Functionalities, processes and workflows.

Desirable:

Experiences of SAP Solution Manager 7.1 to 7.2 upgrade scenarios.
