IC Design Manager - RF/MMIC

This is a new Engineering Management position that has just arisen in the Thames Valley UK for a successful company working on next generation wireless communication technology for 5G.

In this position you will be responsible for leading a team of 4-6 design RF and MMIC Design engineers. You will be responsible for supporting products during the entire product life cycle from product definition through to product release. A significant proportion of your time will be spent on Project management and resource planning and 10-20% of the time you will be contributing to technical leadership on designs.

Responsibilities include:

* Lead and maintain an efficient and technically proficient team required to complete product development goals

* Manage team resources and schedules, career development of team members, setting goals and conduct performance reviews, provide orientation and training

* Project Management: Monitor status of projects and deliver clear depiction of status

* Allocate resources to meet business and project needs.

* Manage RFIC design chip leads and coordinate cross-functional teams including; test engineering, product engineering, modeling, technology, characterisation, program management and quality engineers.

* Implement development flows and best practices to improve development.

* Enable the team to achieve set tasks and promote their career development.

Technical experience is required in some or all of the following:

* RF or MMIC IC design in CMOS

* Experience and knowledge of RFIC circuit blocks including switches , attenuators, phase shifters, power limiters, power amplifiers , mixers, LNAs, PLLs.

* Analog IC design including bandgap voltage references, low-drop out voltage regulators, operational amplifiers.

* Understanding of non-linear effects in transistors.

* Experience in high frequency 10GHz+ circuit design.

* Understanding of High Frequency EM simulation tool, HFSS, momentum.

* Knowledge of Analog Mixed signal verification flow and methodology.

Industry degree qualified the successful IC Design Manager will have a minimum of 8 years experience in RF/MMIC or an Analog IC product development with project management experience of at least 2 years. You will also have proven experience in people management/team leadership.

The ability to manage development schedules and achieve milestones is essential as well as excellent people and management skills.
