I am currently looking to find an Embedded Software Engineer for a design and manufacturer of Innovative electronic systems used by millions of consumers every day. The company are looking to expand their strong R&D team (which makes up a third of their staff), with an embedded software engineer to work from their Reading office.

Innovation is at the heart of this company, and they are always looking to expand into new areas. Their technology is transferrable, and they have pinpointed new products and variations on existing ones which will prove hugely popular, and this is a real exciting time for them. This has now opened the door for an embedded software engineer to join them, ideally an innovator with drive and ambition to help take the business forward.

Role: Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Reading

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000

If you have all or most of the following experience, we want to hear from you;

* Design, code, and integrate software for embedded Linux targets (applications, drivers, kernel, file-systems, boot process)

* Embedded Linux experience and adaptions for new hardware, including U-Boot, kernel installations, filesystems, drivers…

* Experience porting open source software for embedded Linux Platforms

* C/C++ Programming

* Experience utilising Windows operating system

* Customization, deployment and maintenance of Linux system and kernel.

* Create complete bootable images with kernel and filesystems containing system and applications, etc.

* Write interfaces to multiple peripherals, including serial busses, timers, generators, DACs, display devices, and SDIO.

* Perform unit test, verification, and validation of the product developed. Creation of test scripts using various tools (ie. TCL…)

* Good knowledge of microprocessor technology, (NXP iMX, ARM…)

* 8/16/32 bit Microprocessor programming ( i.e. Atmel AVR or ARM Cortex M series)

* Use of SVN or GIT (configuration control)
