My client based in East Anglia commutable from Cambridge and Peterborough are searching for a Chief Engineer to provide senior technical leadership, manage engineering teams and even get involved with designing electronics. You will be working within the senior management team to oversee the development, application and productionisation of existing technology.

My client works on ground-breaking technology to build high frequency power converters, motor controllers and electric motors. The company are now gearing up for production design entering the utility vehicle, power storage, and bespoke auto markets, the potential for the technology being produced is enormous. The company have grown immensely from 15 employees last year to 65 this year and are now looking to double within the year!

What will you be doing?

* Technical leadership and direction to a multi-skilled team of electronic, software and mechanical engineers to achieve business, programme and customer objectives.

* Lead the research and development process to achieve programme targets

* Ensure Product is fit for purpose and designed for manufacture

* Help develop engineers using different tolls such as personal development plans

* Execute appraisals and individual reviews for relevant teams

* Manage 20+ engineers and oversee engineering projects and tasks

* Assisting with the design of power electronics and including high frequency power converters eg; DC to DC

* Managing team leads for the relevant engineering teams and projects

What Skills and experiences should you have?

* Professionally recognised qualifications C Eng., BSc

* Proven Experience in Power electronics design including SMPS, MOSFET, IGBT, Electric motors and motor controllers etc

* Lead Experience of analog/digital electronics design including microcontrollers and PCB

* Experience of managing an electronic, electrical or mechanical product or system through its entire life cycle Design to production

* Proven experience in people management, strategic planning, risk management and change management

* Demonstrable evidence, in a leadership role, of the successful design, development, implementation of new technology.

* Mentoring key engineers and identifying requirements for skills development

* Demonstrable experience of operating at a senior technical management level within an engineering, manufacturing or technology based sector

* Experience of research and development and managing a product from concept to production
