Essential Skills:

* Experienced Python Developer

* Understanding business challenges: Interpret user stories/epics in a critical fashion, and develop tasks based on these (and feedback options when there are gaps, or we discover new things). For example, the post holder will formulate understanding of the need/objectives for industry breakdown of trade in goods; and understand what a successful outcome will be.

* Data understanding: the ability to explore the data, in relation to the challenges identified in the prior step. For example a key requirement for Trade In Goods industry breakdown is a reliable sector classification. This requires an understanding of both the micro level trade data and the business register. More specifically understanding the reliability of the key variables on both data sets. Are there outliers, missing values, input mistakes...

This requires knowledge of descriptive statistics and the ability to produce clear insight to the business users/customers. Currently this would need to be in pyspark for data manipulation and python/R for charting and summary statistics.

* Data preparation: Prepare data for modelling. For example, do we impute for missing values (?) do we drop nulls (?), which variables/features do we take forward (?), or do we create new features from combinations of the existing set (?).

* The post holder would need to know and be able to apply basic statistics. Furthermore , the post holder will be required to interact with statistical experts and implement their recommendations. This would be achieved using pyspark, jupyter notebooks and python.

* Modelling: Ability to identify the type of modelling challenge. For example, the Trade In Goods sector breakdown is a classification challenge. The post holder would need to provide recommended solutions, or implement/test the recommended solutions of statistical and domain experts.

* Evaluation: Use of descriptive statistics combined with the success criteria. The ability to create jupyter notebooks as feedback tool throughout the process, to enable decisions to be made and communicate challenges/discoveries in the data.

* Deployment: Handover understandable tools to the users (basic training if needed)
