Experience & Qualifications

* Demonstrable extensive experience working in their profession with a significant leadership background

* Exposure to building a process from "ground-up" in almost start-up environment

* Full understanding of HSE, Compliance, Governance etc.

* Familiarity of the Defence/Government Sector

* Leadership and capability development of large teams to meet specific objectives

* Senior stakeholder engagement and leadership (both within and external) to ensure successful delivery of complex projects

* A chartered engineer or equivalent demonstrable experience

Role Purpose

My client have recently won a key strategic contract to deliver an Accelerated Capability Environment (ACE) with the Home Office and requires an experienced Senior Operations Manager to work within the core Delivery Team. This is a unique role where, because of the commercial construct and Start-up ethos, significant independent working will be required.

The role is responsible for implementing all of the ACE operations which will ensure that an agile and efficient capability is established, maintained and developed in order to meet the ACE performance objectives.

This role is responsible for Corporate Governance including Health & Safety, Security, IT and ensuring compliance with the various corporate, statutory and regulatory processes and guidelines. The role will also be responsible for developing the ACE Operating Manuals in co-ordination with the Core Team.

Key Accountabilities

Governance: Maintaining effective channels of communication and liaison with all Corporate functions (Commercial, Supply Chain, HSE, Operations, Group Property, Security, lS etc) ensuring full compliance and integration with the appropriate Processes and guidelines.

Capability: Responsible for having appropriate profession capability in the team and that it is fit for purpose for the short and long term requirements of the business.

Capacity: Collaborating with key leaders across the business to ensure that the capacity of their specified group matches the demand for the profession's skills.

Culture: They will develop an effective environment that facilitates vibrant and collaborative teams in line with expected leadership behaviours and values.

Change: Accountable for ensuring a smooth transition to the new organisational model, leading members of their group through the change.

Technical Expertise: a broad range of expertise in operations management.

Facility Management: Design, planning and implementation of the ACE accommodation

Duty of Care: The facility manager holds the 'duty of care' ensuring the safe operation of the facility, and for the safety of all people that work within, or visit, the facility.

Customer & Industry Relations: Developing colleagues and customers, building and maintaining relationships at a senior management level, and provide support and insight to managers of Business Unit Leadership, demonstrably improving the capability in their profession and skill group.

Company Collaboration: Through partnership and communication, work across business and functional boundaries within the business to create collaborative working relationships that demonstrably drive the capability in their profession and skill group.

Professional Development: Recognised as an expert in their skill group and profession internally with colleagues and in the external market, demonstrate progression against professional competencies. Driving a culture of continuous professional development within their profession.
