Project Quality Control Engineer

Location: Irlam, Manchester

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per year

Project Quality Control Engineer required for an exciting opportunity working in a FTSE 100 organisation providing independent quality inputs to the delivery of projects and contracts. The successful candidate will carry out inspection assignments as and when required, and undertake specific activities on behalf of the assurance function as required.

Primary responsibilities include:

* To provide man hour/cost estimates as part of the quality input to bids / tenders and when requested provide estimates to complete to the project manager.

* Liaising with customers to understand their requirements for QA, QC and inspection.

* Work with engineering to ensure design deliverables adequately define the customers and internal QC requirements.

* Ensure supplier quality arrangements are reviewed and approved in accordance with project requirements, including customer approvals.

* Arranging and carrying out inspection assignments.

* Advising on all aspects of QC & inspection on projects.

* Ensure compliance with company QMS and HSE policies and procedures at all time.

Qualifications and Requirements:

* Working knowledge of the Nuclear Industry

* Working knowledge of ISO 9001

* Must have completed a Manufacturing apprenticeship.

* Must have been involved in the manufacture, assembly and testing turnkey specialist assemblies.

* Fabrication and welding techniques

* HNC Qualified or equivalent in relevant subject

* Weld inspection qualification
