Our Central Government client based in London are currently recruiting for an Interaction Designer with SC Clearance.
Role Profile
The specialist will be working as part of a large Central Government programme which is developing a service to replace one of the current National Databases.
This will replace the service that users find intelligence on at a national level with a new UI supported by modernised search capabilities.
The specialist will design the new product (at Alpha stage) for intelligence and work as part of an agile and user need-led team, alongside other designers including a content designer.
Their work will be informed and iterated based on user needs gathered through user research and usability testing. Key patterns and learning developed in this process will be reused in other products.
The role will involve prototyping on all levels of fidelity, from paper to use of GDS design toolkit. There will a need to work with cross-government design community to help define new cross-government interaction design patterns.
Key Skills / Experience
* Experience of interaction design in cross-functional agile teams
* Experience of introducing user-cantered design to organisations
* HTML/CSS knowledge
* Experience of working within Government/public sector
* Prototyping Experience
* Experience of leading the design and working autonomously in an agile delivery team
* Demonstrable ability to work closely with others, including user researchers, front-end developers and product and delivery leads
* Strong communications skills and the ability to explain design decisions to others, inside and outside of the delivery team
* Knowledge of accessibility good practice and experience of designing accessible interfaces
* Police Domain Knowledge
