IT Manager - Highly Successful Technology Business

Our client, a cutting-edge high-technology company, is a recognised leader in remote workstations, virtualisation and zero client technology. They are now looking for an IT Manager to join their team.

In this important role, you will have the chance to demonstrate your management skills, share your knowledge with a hard-working team and serve a predominantly tech-savvy user base.

As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all technical support for our client’s UK and US offices. You will also test hardware and software for customers using the company’s on-site Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL).

Specifically, you’ll manage the network, telephony and server systems to ensure optimal availability and capacity. You’ll be liaising directly with users on a daily basis, so exceptional communication skills are key.

You will develop and continuously improve testing procedures for the SIL, as well as tracking, licensing and preparing equipment for use with standardised testing procedures.

Additionally, you’ll develop processes, policies and procedures to ensure that the IT function operates in-line with ISO 9001 and other accreditation schemes.

Your other duties will involve:

- Providing user training, support and advice

- Evaluating new systems that may optimise operations

- Managing the IT budget and costs

- Overseeing security and backup procedures

- Scheduling equipment resources and maintenance activities to support the SIL

To be considered for this exceptional opportunity, you must have:

- Previous experience of managing a technical function and/or team

- Networking experience, including switching, routing, MPLS, security and firewalls

- In-depth experience of Desktop and Server virtualisation platforms, including VMware vSphere, Horizon and Citrix

Experience of the following would be beneficial to your application: Linux operating systems, MRP and ERP systems and ITIL.
