We have a new programme called "Excellent Customer Outcomes" (ECO) to review the way that they do business and try to identify where there could be potential issues. It's a role that is more focussed on tweaking and remediating rather than developing brand new solutions, but there is scope for bigger solutions depending on what is discovered. The aim is that the business will always put the customer first and that this programme of work will mean the group is set up to support its customers and clients into the future.

* The "ECO" programme (30751) is a key initiative aligned with our corporate strategy of ensuring we improve our Customer experience, and a significant amount of process re-engineering across all aspects of how we engage with customers will be required to achieve this.

* The programme intends to look holistically at our customer journeys and has been given the steer to do the "right" thing to ensure we do not end up in this position again in another 5 years. Require additional Solution Architect resource to ensure we design solutions which are robust and scalable.

In essence the business is looking for one solid Solutions Architect with a broad exposure to the financial services

Essential

* Experience on several projects in a Solutions Architect role incorporating multiple technology platforms.

* Broad understanding of all aspects of solutions architecture and design including:

* Strong knowledge of current technical trends and techniques

* Experience of 3rd Party package or supplier integration projects.

* Application Architectures

* Middleware technologies

* Core infrastructure & operating systems

* Definition of current, interim and future state architectures

* Information security

* Non-functional aspects of solutions definition

* Operational Service Design

* Data & Application Integration patterns & best practice

Desirable

* Experience of working in an Financial Services environment

* Experience of having worked in a merger type environment and in associated delivery programmes

* Experience of being the architectural lead on change programmes or portfolios

* Experience of working with senior level stakeholders (e.g. CIO, COO, etc.)

* Experience of working with digital platforms (e.g. web content management, APIs, etc.).

* Experience of Microsoft .Net application architecture and development

* Experience of Service Oriented Architecture and associated integration technologies.

* Experience of WebSphere MQ, IBM Message Broker/Integration Bus or Ab Initio

* Experience of mainstream infrastructure technologies including:

AIX, x86, IBM z/OS Mainframe, Oracle, SQL server, Data Storage, Network

* Experience of cloud based services (e.g. Azure, AWS, etc.) and integration methods

* Experience of migrating existing applications onto new technology platforms

* Experience of architecting solutions that span geographies

* Experience of Application Portfolio Management

* Experience of one or more architecture or design methodologies, tools and associated best practices (e.g. TOGAF, UML, Sparx Enterprise Architect)
