Programme Director - Consumer Protection & Empowerment

Great Britain’s gambling industry is in a constant state of change, fuelled by shifting consumer behaviour and the rapid growth of technology. It’s high profile politically too, and the legislation controlling gambling is constantly under scrutiny. Within this uniquely challenging and evolving environment, our client’s role is to ensure that gambling is crime free, fair and open - and that children and vulnerable people are protected. Now they need you to play a key role in their future, driving the change needed to ensure that our client can meet the growing complexity of the market and their developing regulatory remit.

Our client is now seeking a Programme Director to lead a programme to improve and enhance their engagement with consumers and their representatives. Currently, the information available to consumers regarding products, services and their rights is hard to find and generic. You will change that, empower consumers and make sure they can enjoy gambling freely.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a leading role in solutions that will make a real difference to consumers and drive their engagement with a leading regulatory body.

As the Programme Director, you will be tasked with leading the delivery of our strategic priority programme to protect the interests of consumers and to make gambling fairer.

Working with the Executive Director, you will play a strategic role collaborating with the Senior Team, across theorganisation and with partner organisations

You will lead the delivery of work to protect consumers’ interests, improve and enhance consumer engagement by placing consumers at the heart of everything our client does, and deliver information and services that put greater power in the hands of consumers.

Interested? To be considered, you will need to be a strategic thinker with exemplary stakeholder management and planning and organisational skills who will be able to demonstrate:

- A proven track record in consumer policy, consumer protection or consumer advocacy

- Demonstrable experience of building effective partnerships across organisations that deliver good consumer outcomes

A proven leader and sounding board for ideas, as the Programme Director, you will also need excellent communication skills, the ability to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience and a decisive approach to your work. A team player mentality as well as the ability to quickly grasp business issues will also be key.
