Product Owner, Contract Opportunity, Wales- Newport

Our public sector client requires a product owner to lead and develop the emerging community of product owners/managers, coach other stakeholders in the responsibilities, authority and autonomy of Product Owners. The successful candidate will be working with mainly with the 20 or so product owners but also with the delivery teams and senior stakeholders with whom they engage to ensure the responsibilities, authority and autonomy of the PO role is understood.

Key Skills/ Experiences

* Have strong verbal, written and visual communication skills that are tailored to the needs of the audience.

* Have product manager/owner experience (from undertaking the role) from a government (or similar) organisation, ideally at a senior level.

* Have experience of coaching and mentoring with the demonstrated desired to change how the organisation works.

* Have practical experience of working as part of an agile delivery team, and a good understanding of agile working as defined by the GDS Digital Service Standard manual.

* Have experience in a variety of disciplines; at least two of - digital and technology, user research, analysis, user experience design, development approaches and business.
