The NATS Analytics department seeks to optimise decision making via scientific excellence and analysis. The department provides exciting opportunities for ambitious and talented individuals to help shape the future of air traffic management (ATM) in aspects such as safety performance, airport and airspace capacity, business modelling and environmental impact.

NATS are looking for people skilled in analytics who can offer a sound blend of technical, interpersonal and commercial skills. A good numerate degree and a track record of success in applying appropriate techniques to support business decisions are essential.

The ideal candidate will plan, execute and report on assigned fast-time simulation and analysis tasks, contributing to the continuous improvement of the capability area. They will be expected to carry out robust analytics using advanced Excel skills, a range of bespoke tools and programmes, as well as planning and reporting on the activities they undertake.

Key areas of expertise include the ability to work well with customers and interpret their requirements and then to accurately model the real world situations in the models or data-driven analysis. Experience of simulation tools such as AirTOp, TAAM, CAST, SIMMOD, ArcPort or equivalent would be beneficial. Any software experience in C# or advanced database skills (SQL and Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse systems) would also be advantageous.

Activities include inputting to airport capacity enhancement projects for customers around the world, supporting the team's capability to implement NATS' vision for the future. This role provides the opportunity to work with people from across NATS and the aviation industry, influencing change and improving decision making through the robust and innovative use of data and analysis.
